To the Candilora / Jones Families:

I am writing this letter to express to you how grateful I am for receiving the 10-07 Scholarship.  Before I attended the academy, I was driving a semi-truck out of Ogden.  I was very stable, but felt like I needed more in life.  That is when I decided to join the Weber State Police Academy.  I budgeted and planned my finances out and had a safety net of funds.  I was way off on my calculations for equipment and everything else.  Due to my miscalculations, funds have been extremely tight.  I can only work part time while attending the academy and have been quite stressed over finances. 

This scholarship will ensure that I will remain financially stable as I finish up the academy.  I can put my mind at ease on finances and put my heart and soul into the rest of my training.  Although I am currently not hired on by a police department, I am confident an agency will see my hard work and dedication and bring me on very soon.  Your scholarship will allow me to train far more than I ever thought and remain financially secure.  I plan to be working full time as a police officer by the end of the year and serving my community.

Once again, I would like to thank you for choosing me for this scholarship.  You have helped me out more than you can imagine and I look forward to attending the 10-07 Charitable Fund 5K Walk / Run next year and giving my support.
