Dear 10-07 Fund Supporters:

I am honored to be receiving this scholarship.  I am incredibly grateful for the funds that you are able to make available to our Weber State Cadets.  This scholarship will not only help me, but it will also give me more confidence in continuing my education moving forward.  The scholarship that I have received is going to pay my tuition off for the remainder of academy.  This academy has not been easy for me and has presented difficult challenges at times due to lack of money and long school hours, but it will all be worth it in the end and will pay off

My family and I could not thank you enough.  My wife has endured with me through this entire process and has worked so hard to support us financially while I have been attending academy.  Being a self-sponsor has only made me stronger, dedicated and more ambitious.  Like Toby, I am a true believer in law enforcement and will mold my life around being a leader in the community and someone who will always answer the call.  The thought of putting on that badge and living my life through the fallen officers that gave everything to their communities is what this is all about

Going into law enforcement for me is such an honor and privilege that not all people get to go into in life.  Some will never understand the sacrifice that men and women make.  One of my favorite quotes that I have implemented into my life reads: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”  I want people in the community I serve to remember me for the way that I treated them and for the way that I cared and empathized with them.  I will forever be grateful for Toby Candilora and his commitment.  His story will live on and will always be a part of the Weber State Police Academy Legacy.

One again, I would like to personally thank the Candilora and Jones families and the 10-07 Charitable Fund for helping me and my family.  I also want to thank Director Kotter for sharing this information with all the Weber State Police Academy cadets and letting us know the greatness of this scholarship and how much this means to your family.  God bless you.
